McCrae & McCrae Ltd was established in 1984 when Rod McCrae, formerly of United Auctions, Perth, and his father, formerly Farm Manager for Dupplin Estate, Perth, started up in business.

One of McCrae & McCrae's core businesses is pursuing crop and acquisition compensation claims, for example, over 200 annual water and gas pipeline compensation claims (including 30 claims on the Irish Gas pipeline in Kirkudbrightshire). We are also pursuing several hundred claims on the M80, M8, Kirkintilloch, Forth Bridge, M90 roads and the Kincardine and Airdrie-Bathgate railway lines. We are also working on the Dunfermline Flood Prevention Scheme, and other such schemes, and the Beauly-Denny pylon lines and other such lines.

McCrae & McCrae was one of the first companies to lot properties for sale. During and after the 'credit crunch' other selling agents cut back on 'lotting' properties for sale because it's complicated and hard work but McCrae and McCrae has continued doing it. For example, the sale of Meiklebeath Farm of 160 acres in six lots of bare land secured twice the sale proceeds compared to selling it as farmland. It's worth the extra effort to secure the highest possible price.

We have a comprehensive list of prospective purchasers and use personal contacts, as well as a state-of-the-art estate agency software package, to link sellers with potential purchasers. We try to secure zoning for strategic development land, on the edges of towns and villages, in local authority local plans and secure option agreements for strategic land.
